 Tuesday 7th - Reading Museum & Reading Abbey Market

See the recreated Bayeux Tapestry every single detail full painstakingly reproduced by a group of Victorian embroiderers. The Bayeux Tapestry is one of the world’s most famous pieces of medieval art. It is 70 metres long, and chronicles the legendary tale of the Norman conquest of England.  The art collection consists of art and craft ranging from oil paintings to sculpture and the archaeology collection is extensive and varied. Stroll down to Market Place for lunch and look around the market stalls.

Reading Museum entry:  Free

Departure: 10:00am                     Return: 4:00pm                              Cost = £12.50

 

Friday 17th - Claydon House & Gardens

Dating from 17th century, see the beautiful wood carvings in the downstairs rooms, and explore the wonderful rooms including Florence Nightingale’s bedroom from her time at Claydon House. Used for filming among others Emma, Far from the Maddening Crowd and more recently Cinderella.  The Phoenix Kitchen serves fresh, wholesome food to enjoy within the beautiful surroundings of Claydon Courtyard.

Entry Fee:   Adults - £10.00

Entry to Claydon House is free for National Trust members.

Tuesday 21st - Capel Manor Gardens & Whitewebbs Museum of Transport

Explore the beautiful gardens and grounds and spend time at the tranquil Japanese Garden. Find your way around the Holly Maze. Check out the mini zoo and see Capel Manor’s collection of exotic and domestic animals. So much to see and enjoy!

Entry Fee:    Adults - £10.00     Concession – 9.00

Tuesday 28th - Flowerland - (Iver)

A trip to this much beloved garden centre set in the beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside, where you can pick up something nice for Spring and have lunch at the restaurant. This comprehensive centre offers home and garden supplies with home cooked food and drink in an onsite café and an outside nursery.

Departure: 09.30am                       Return: 15.30pm                            Cost = £8.50
